  Is it possible to force install Android 11 on an smartphone without root?

  Hi
  I have a Huawei P20 pro that was given to me by a family friend from Japan. This phone runs on Android 10 with NTT DoCoMo service.

  I, who lives not in Japan, have been receiving notifications saying there’s an Android update available but when I go to install it, it says I’m not connected to the DoCoMo network. Thus I’m unable to update my phone’s Android version.

  I obviously can’t go to Japan to update my phone’s Android. So is there any other options? Rooting my device might help, but I’m to scared to do it myself since I’m not very knowledgeable in this department. It’ll be very much appreciated if you guys could help. Thanks for reading it through and thanks in advance for your help.

    I know this may seem drastic, but you may need to send it back to your friend in Japan to get the update and have him resend it back to you once he downloads the update.
